Our Portfolio
Driving Marine Innovation in Timor-Leste
Every project we complete at MarineCraft Innovations (MACIN) represents a step toward building a safer, more sustainable, and self-reliant marine industry in Timor-Leste.
From the first aluminum boat prototype to community training programs, our portfolio reflects local innovation with global standards — merging craftsmanship, technology, and purpose.

⚙️ Workshop Development & Infrastructure (2024–2025)
Location: Lospalos, Lautém District
Investment: USD 25,000 (Founder-funded)
Our flagship workshop is the heart of MarineCraft Innovations — the first of its kind in Timor-Leste dedicated to marine-grade aluminum fabrication.
Equipped with CNC nesting systems, TIG/MIG welding equipment, and modular assembly bays, it serves as the foundation for our long-term production capacity.
Key Achievements:
• Established local production with 100 % Timorese workforce.
• Completed installation of aluminum cutting and welding facilities.
• Designed precision jigs for hull alignment and quality control.

🚤 Prototype Development — MACIN Boat Series (2025)
Models: MACIN-450, MACIN-520
Focus: Safety, efficiency, and low-cost ownership for small-scale fishers.
In 2025, we successfully developed and tested two prototype vessels built from 5052-grade aluminum. Both models demonstrated exceptional buoyancy, reduced fuel use, and strong performance under field testing in Lautém coastal waters.
Results:
• 20 % higher fuel efficiency compared to wooden boats.
• Fully corrosion-resistant design with sealed flotation.
• Proven durability in daily community use.

🌿 Community Skills Development & Youth Apprenticeships (2025)
Objective: Build a local workforce for sustainable manufacturing.
MarineCraft Innovations launched a training and apprenticeship program for young technicians and welders. Through hands-on workshops and mentoring, participants gain the skills to fabricate and service modern marine vessels.
Impact:
• 6 new technical jobs created.
• 8 apprentices trained in aluminum welding and safety.
• 40 % increase in local fabrication capacity.

🤝 Partnerships & Collaborations
• WorldFish Timor-Leste: Technical and data partnership on fisheries safety.
• Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries (MAF): Alignment with vessel registration and safety certification programs.
• Local Cooperatives: Field testing and performance validation.
• IFC & Development Partners: Exploratory collaboration for blue-economy financing and MSME support.

🔭 Future Projects (2026 – 2027)
• Launch of MACIN-600 center-console model for tourism and commercial fishing.
• Expansion to ASEAN sourcing partnerships and export certification.
• Deployment of mobile maintenance units along Timor-Leste’s northern coast.
• Target: 60 boats produced annually by 2027.

🌊 Our Promise
Every project is built on three pillars: safety, sustainability, and self-reliance.
By combining advanced engineering with local talent, we’re helping shape a future where Timor-Leste’s marine industry stands strong — powered by innovation, purpose, and pride.
“Each MACIN vessel tells a story of craftsmanship, courage, and community progress — built for Timor-Leste, by Timor-Leste.”
— Sidonio Ds. Santos, Founder & Director
